The mac and cheese market is looking brighter than ever for non-dairy eaters. Annie’s Inc., a popular national brand that specializes in natural and organic products, has launched two new vegan pasta offerings.

The new items come in two varieties: Organic Vegan Shells & Creamy Sauce (made with organic wheat pasta) and Organic Vegan Gluten Free Elbows & Creamy Sauce (made with organic rice pasta).

“Annie’s latest macaroni & cheese offerings are a direct response to ongoing consumer requests from over the years,” said John Foraker, President at Annie’s, in a press release. “We know consumers are looking for more variety and specialty diet options like vegan, which currently lack in the category.”

Both varieties feature a vegan sauce made with pumpkin and sweet potato. Cooks can just add non-dairy milk and VOILA—a kid-friendly alternative to neon orange mac and cheese.

In addition to Annie’s, vegan eaters now have Daiya’s Cheesy Mac, Earth Balance mac and cheese and Pastariso’s Mac Uncheddar to choose from.

Annie’s new items have a suggested retail price of $2.89 each. Annie’s reps tell Latest Vegan News that the products started hitting shelves at Whole Foods last week.
