Beyond Meat Giving Away Lifetime Supply of Meatless Meats in Instagram Contest

Beast Burger image BYMTIn the three years since it rolled out its first product, Beyond Meat has made its way into the mainstream, scoring shelf space at major chains like Target, Publix and Whole Foods.

In keeping with its innovative mission, the brand is launching a new endeavor: the #15sChef Competition. The contest asks home chefs to create 15-second plant-based cooking videos on Instagram.

There’ll be two different rounds of judging (done by celebrities including Bad Ass Vegan John Lewis and NBA veteran John Salley), and the lengthy list of tiered awards for winners includes swag bags, Visa gift cards and products from brands like Daiya Cheese, KeVita, Chef’d, Le Creuset, Kitchen IQ, Tater Tats, Blue Monkey Coconut Water, Eatpastry, Follow Your Heart and Cheeky.

Most notably, one Ultra Grand Prize winner will take home a lifetime supply of Beyond Meat (plus a cookware makeover). That’s a lot of beefy crumble and buffalo poppers.

If you’re interested in packing your freezer with vegan eats, Beyond Meat gave Latest Vegan News some exclusive tips for contest entrants:

  • Do your homework. 15 seconds isn’t much time, but we’ve been surprised at how much you can fit in if you choose your shots wisely. Check out @15sChef to see the great videos that people have been making.
  • Phone a friend. Everything’s more fun with a buddy (or two) and making an Instagram cooking video is no exception. We see this as a great excuse to get some of your favorite foodies together for a quick and easy video shoot.
  • Have fun. There are a lot of forms your video can take, and all of them are great. You could show off every step of a recipe or just highlight your favorites, and videos can be serious or silly or just downright strange (check out the cat making Beast Burgers). The goal of the #15sChef challenge is to highlight all of the amazing (and diverse) ways that people can enjoy making plant based meals.
  • And finally, don’t be intimidated! if you can film a food selfie, you can shoot a 15s chef video. All you need is a phone and some delicious ingredients!

To enter the contest, upload a 15-second plant-based cooking video to Instagram using the hashtags #BeyondMeat and #15sChef! Multiple entries are encouraged. The competition runs through June 30.
