In news that’s a huge step forward for the plant-based movement, the New York Times reports that Hampton Creek has signed a deal with global food services company, Foodbuy.  This means Just Mayo and Just Cookies will be finding their way onto millions of new plates.

Foodbuy services a massive portfolio of markets, including caterers, restaurants, sports and entertainment venues, senior living centers, vendor services—even oil rigs. They buy approximately $18 billion of food as the procurement arm of Compass Group, and their eats are in schools, corporate cafeterias, vending machines, conference centers. Basically, everywhere.

It was a huge deal when Just Mayo made it onto the shelves of Walmart, Target and Dollar Stores, but this takes the company to a whole new playing field.

“Through this partnership, we’re tapping into this powerful, powerful infrastructure that determines what ends up on a lot of plates,” Hampton Creek CEO Josh Tetrick told the New York Times. “This extends the reach and impact of our products beyond anything we’ve done before.”
