Starbucks’ New Witch’s Brew Frappuccino Is Vegan, Just Leave Off the Whipped Cream

Starbucks new violet-hued, Halloween-themed frappuccino is taking the internet by storm.

Deep purple in color (with green accents) this new Witch’s Brew Crème Frappuccino is reportedly made of “powdered lizard scales, swamp fog, bat warts, and toad’s breath.”

While that Hocus Pocus-inspired ingredients list sounds anything but vegan, it’s all in good fictional fun!

The real ingredients — sans whipped cream and with the non-dairy milk of your choice — are animal product free. Yay!

Here’s what’s really in the super festive drink:

Ice, Milk, Crème Frappuccino Syrup [Water, Sugar, Salt, Natural And Artificial Flavor, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid], Whipped Cream [Cream (Cream, Mono And Diglycerides, Carageenan), Vanilla Syrup (Sugar, Water, Natural Flavors, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid)], Orange Flavored Purple Powder [Dextrose, Purple Color Blend (Maltodextrin, Vegetable Juice, Rice Hulls, Spirulina Extract, Trehalose, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate), Citric Acid, Natural Flavor], Green Colored Chia Seeds [White Chia Seeds, Green Powder (Maltodextrin, Ground Rice Hulls, Polysorbate 80, Spirulina Extract, Trehalose, Turmeric Extract, Sodium Citrate, Alpha-tocopherol)], Green Colored Sugar [Cane Sugar, Green Powder (Maltodextrin, Ground Rice Hulls, Polysorbate 80, Spirulina Extract, Trehalose, Turmeric Extract, Sodium Citrate, Alpha-tocopherol)].

If you’re wondering how it tastes, it’s reminiscent of a creamsicle! Don’t let the colors fool you. It tastes like orange and it’s delicious.

And chia and spirulina? Superfoods win! (Now all we need is for the drink giant to start carrying vegan whipped cream — and baked goods!)

This drink is only around for a limited time, so I’d make a Starbucks run ASAP if you want to get your hands on one.

Gotta love Halloween. I know I do! ???
