Sunwarrior Launches New, Raw, Plant-Based Protein Powder

sunwarriorAs growing numbers of athletes realize animal products are unhealthy, the need for plant-based protein supplements is on the ups. Sunwarrior, a Utah-based health food company, is all about filling this niche.

The brand has launched a new, organic plant-based protein supplement called “Classic Plus.” Designed to boost energy and fuel muscle, it’s built on the company’s original rice protein, adding yellow peas, chia seeds, quinoa, and amaranth. The final result is gluten free, soy free, dairy free, USDA organic, raw and vegan.

“We handpicked the very best ingredients from our protein lineup to create Classic Plus,” said Russ Crosby, Chief Executive Officer of Sunwarrior, in a press release. “With this protein, we’re highlighting ancient grain goodness without any worry over carbs or gluten. This protein is strong enough to power our customers’ active lives and gentle enough to use every day.”

“It’s a creamy, delicious, silky-smooth blend of brown rice, yellow pea, chia, quinoa and amaranth proteins. Organic ancient grains and superfoods to get you in the mood to tackle your day with some serious strength and swagger,” adds brand ambassador and celebrity vegan chef Jason Wrobel.

Classic Plus Protein is designed to increase energy, muscle growth, muscle repair and muscle recovery, says the company. One serving (or one scoop) is 96 calories, 18g of protein, and 0g of sugar, and it comes in vanilla, chocolate and natural.

(Incidentally, Sunwarrior’s products are used in the new line of vegan smoothies at Smoothie King.)

You can find Classic Plus Protein on the shelves at certain Whole Foods, Vitamin Shoppes, Sprouts, GNCs and thousands of other retailers nationwide, as well as online at Sunwarrior.com.
