Vegan Ranch, Caesar Dressings Coming to Target, Safeway & More Stores This Summer

10OZ_WEB_RanchWhen it comes to traditionally popular salad dressings like ranch and Caesar, the vast majority of manufacturers use animal products; cream, cheese, eggs—even anchovies. Luckily for plant-based eaters, Tessemae’s is rolling out vegan versions of these old-school favorites, and the products are coming to major retailers nationwide.

Tessemae’s dressings are all natural, sugar-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, non-GMO and have zero additives or preservatives. 11 of the 20 varieties are vegan, and the company’s cruelty-free options include ranch, classic Caesar, soy ginger, green goddess and more.

Currently, the brand is available at Whole Foods, Safeway, Kroger, Fresh Market, Mariano’s, Gelsen’s and it’ll be coming to Target and Wegman’s nationwide starting in August.

So how did they re-create the creamy texture of ranch and Caesar without using any animal products?

“The secret is the coconut milk. It provides the silky texture and opaque appearance needed to mimic the traditional ranch/caesar profile. Once we had that, it was simply a matter of adding the fresh herbs and spices,” CEO Greg Vetter told Latest Vegan News.

The ranch and Caesar are new as of this month. In July, the company will roll out yellow and Dijon mustards and in August, it’ll introduce a 1.5oz pouch for on-the-go health.

“People love them for a variety of reasons,” Vetter added. “Quite honestly, taste and flavor take first position, followed quickly by the clean ingredients and health benefits. However, the ones that truly leave a indelible impression are when we hear about people who can finally enjoy products that to date have been off the table for them based on allergies, diabetes, or otherwise.”

Prices start at $5.99 per 10 oz. bottle.
