Pastaríso Releases New Vegan, Gluten-Free ‘Mac Uncheddar’
Everyone loves mac ‘n cheese, but the cozy American comfort food isn’t as easy to stumble across when you’re dairy-free. Vegans have a shiny new option, however, with Pastariso’s new Mac Uncheddar.
The vegan, gluten-free pasta is also non GMO, wheat-free and soy-free. It’s made with white and brown rice flour, pea protein powder and a handful of other ingredients.
Pastaríso spent two years working on recipes and formulas before introducing Mac Uncheddar this month, and they say it’s as “creamily delicious” as the real deal.
Each serving also boasts 10g of protein and 3g of fiber. It takes 10 minutes to make, and only requires 2 tbsp. of vegan butter and 1/4 cup of any non-dairy milk.
“We went to great lengths to make certain our vegan, dairy free and gluten free new Mac Uncheddar would have the authentic tastes and textures that have kept macaroni and cheese such a perennial family favorite for decades,” said Sylvia Tam, VP of Marketing for Maplegrove Gluten Free Foods in a press release. (Pastaríso’s is part of the parent company, Maplegrove Gluten Free Foods.)
“We’re heartened by the highly enthusiastic response our new product has already generated and look forward to providing a delicious alternative.”
The product is debuting at Sprouts locations nationwide in late April, so be on the lookout in your area. It’s also available at VeganEssentials.com for $3.79.
