Comedian Aziz Ansari Takes Down Factory Farming

If you’re not familiar with Aziz Ansari, now’s the time to cue up Parks and Recreation on your Netflix. His turn as Tom Haverford was legendary, and above and beyond his acting ability, the multi-talented superstar is known for his stand-up skills.

Mercy for Animals snagged the clip of this portion of his appearance, and posted to its Facebook page. First, Aziz goes through a basic rundown of how the industry works, IE, genetic engineering of different kinds of chickens. Then:

“I’m reading this and I’m like, well what happens to the male layer chicks? They can’t lay eggs, they can’t be used for meat — what happens? They just get murdered in insane ways! Like, they’ll take all the male layer chicks and they’ll throw them into a big, chicken woodchipper. Another thing they’ll do is they’ll put them in a big plastic vat and just put a lid on it and suffocate them to death.”

From there, he takes this serious subject and manages to make it hilarious, all while doing a killer Ja Rule impression.
