Sweet Earth Launches First-Ever Probiotic, Vegan Breakfast Burrito

Sweet Earth Foods has launched a new vegan breakfast burrito, and it’s as good for your gut as it is for the planet. Billed as “the world’s first probiotic breakfast burrito,” the just-released Get Cultured! breakfast entree is packed with seasoned tofu, fermented red pepper, cabbage, edamame and fresh ginger.

Probiotics are live bacteria and yeasts touted for their myriad benefits to the digestive system. While people generally expect probiotics in their sauerkraut and yogurt, a burrito is something entirely new. Get Cultured! is infused with a heat-resistant strain known as Bacilius Coagulans GBI-30 6086 (developed by Ganeden Biotech).

“When you look in the breakfast aisles, too much of what is available is reliant on sugar for flavor and lacking in key nutrients like protein and beneficial fiber,” said Sweet Earth CEO Kelly Swette in a press release. “The breakfast segment is getting a long overdue facelift and a shift to savory from sweet. I wanted to create products to start someone’s day right — with their specific needs in mind. Sweet Earth has crafted a line of wholly Functional Breakfast Burritos™ to meet the health needs of today’s modern families, including the first probiotic breakfast burrito for those interested in improved gut health and digestion.”

Sweet Earth launched the new vegan breakfast burrito, along with several other products, at this weekend’s Expo West in Anaheim, Calif.

Chock up another win for vegan convenience foods, perfect for those rushed mornings when there’s just no time for elaborate tofu scrambles or sprouted buckwheat pancakes.
